Programs4Africa
Programs4Media also has an African operation, Programs4Africa which specialises in programme distribution across Africa.
Its first client in 2005 was 20th Century Fox Television Distribution and since then P4A has been Fox's licensing representative of all Fox feature films, television movies, specials, series and US versions of reality series in English speaking sub-Saharan Africa. This vast library includes classics such as Ally McBeal, The Simpsons and COPS through to more recent hits; Prison Break, Drive, 24, The Riches and The Simple Life.
Commenting on the African operation, Michael Schlagman, MD of P4M, said: "We have enormous belief in Africa as a dynamic market that promises huge potential for all forms of programming. The creation of a dedicated sales company is a logical extension to our existing business and demonstrates our on-going commitment to the region. Our relationship with Fox will provide us with the quality, innovative programming we need."
Steve Cornish, 20th Century Fox Television Distribution's senior VP for sales, Europe, said that the agreement would give his company "an even stronger foothold in one of the most exciting emerging markets."
